Confidence Via Education

Hey guys! I'm so sorry I haven't been active recently but there is just a whole lot going (can anyone say overloaded junior year?!). Anyway, here I am ready to share an important view on something we've all experienced: education.

Now I said we've all experienced because most of my readers live inside the United States. However, the truth of the matter is, even in America, there are still people in the world who are not literate. In April 2016, UNICEF posted in an article that the global literacy had gone up from 83% to 91% over two decades. Yes, that's great and everything but of the 9% of people in the world who are illiterate, 59% are women.

Learning is important to me because I know that I am very blessed and privileged to be born into a country where they give me the opportunity to be educated ( and, nonetheless, for free). I am, especially grateful because I am a female and I realize that in other countries and cultures, females are denied their right to education. Education is very important in general because it enhances how you think. Being more educated helps you problem solve faster, have a lower percentage of being in poverty, and just live a healthier and more fulfilling life. People who hold a college degree are likely to earn at least $10,000 dollars more a year than their high school diploma counterparts.

I know I sound like a textbook but, it's the facts that matter- ya feel me? Anyway, going back to the title, education is also important because it gives you confidence. You start having confidence in what you know and in what you believe. Besides that, when you are educated you can research into things you find interesting and share your knowledge more effectively with others around you so they can be more educated like you.

So, crack open those books or go back to school and get that education on! And until next time, stay CONFIDENT.
